I created a section on her titled "Black Feminism" which goes into some of her work and showcases the themes of Black Feminist Theory that is seen throughout her films. In regards to technology, she is important because she is one of the first directors to capture the black female narrative and produce creative works that paint African-American women in a positive light.

Zeinabu Davis
Professor Zeinabu Davis is a Filmmaker and Professor at the University of California, San Diego in the Department Of Communications. While taking a class with her in Fall of 2013, I was exposed to how much she has impacted the world of feminism though her work. While she already had Wiki page, it did not discuss the importance of her films and her work as a scholar.

Fantastic choice, Hakeemm. Looks like the page is flagged for cleanup yet the parts needing cleanup are not specified--that makes this a hard task. Important to make sure what you add addresses and does not add to the perceived issues. Feminism is spelled wrong in the second line and Black is capitalized and not capitalized--you could decide which way it should be according to your preference. Also the footnote to Bobo should appear after her quote, not after your point. Are there other ways you could make it "cleaned up" such as finding articles about Davis to quote from? Perhaps you could ask Prof. Davis for some sources?
ReplyDeleteAs Professor Cartwright points out, this is a great arena for adding citations from articles and other kinds of scholarly and news databases and enhancing the case for her meeting the "notability" standard. In addition to using consistent language conventions, you should also be mindful of the prohibition on "no original research," which your analysis of her role in black feminism might seem to be. Nonetheless, it's a real achievement to have your edits persist for so long, particularly on a page with a broom notice for cleanup.
